Artist Mile Viero was born into the musical family Đurđević Žojan from the village of Osipaonica, Serbia. He completed his Master’s studies at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana in 2024, graduating with the highest grade and honors (Summa cum laude). For his exceptional performance achievements, he was awarded the Honorary Diploma for the Best Academic Achievements of the University of Ljubljana.
As part of the Erasmus exchange program, Viero broadened his musical horizons at the Conservatory of Music in Trieste. He is currently furthering his expertise through an advanced studies program at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava. For over a year, he taught accordion at music schools in Ljubljana.
Throughout his classical accordion studies, he has achieved numerous notable artistic successes. He has won over fifty first prizes at international competitions, including prestigious awards from the Akkordeonwettbewerb (Germany), the Coupe Mondiale (Lithuania), Concorso Talento Contemporaneo (Italy), and the TEMSIG competition (Slovenia).
Viero actively performs as a soloist and chamber musician in Vienna, Ljubljana, and Paris. His performances have been featured in renowned concert series and at numerous official events across Slovenia. Among his most significant engagements are two concerts for the President of the Republic of Slovenia (2022, 2024), a performance at the Frankfurt Book Fair (2023), three solo concerts in Paris (2025), and two concerts at the Slovene Cultural Center Korotan in Vienna (2025).
He has studied under several esteemed and internationally recognized mentors: Borut Zagoranski (Slovenia), Corrado Rojac (Italy), Boris Lenko (Slovakia), and Petar Mirkov (Serbia).
Since 2025, Viero has embraced the electric accordion, a truly unique instrument that blends the tactile feel of the traditional acoustic accordion, made by the Bugari company, with cutting-edge technology and rich orchestral sound capabilities.
His diverse repertoire spans classical music, crossover arrangements, film and popular melodies, as well as traditional folk music, reflecting both his artistic versatility and cultural depth.
